Vayomithram Scheme in Kerala

Kerala Social Security Mission (Social Justice Department, Kerala) has launched the Vayomithram scheme for the people of old age to provide health care and support for the elderly in the age group of more than 65 years in the corporation / urban areas of the state of Kerala. And have applied. Under this project, the government mainly provides free medicines for elderly people through mobile clinics, positive care and help desk services. This project has been started in the first phase of Kollam and Trivandrum and in the financial year 2011-12 Twelve new headquarters have been extended and two new projects have been started in the financial year 2013-14.

A total of 25 projects has been implemented in the entire state. In the recent fiscal year, the Government of Kerala has also decided to start 9 more projects in the area of Marad (Ernakulam), Manjeri, Kottakal (Malappuram), Vakkera (Calicut) and Chalukkudi (Thrissur) municipality in Kerala. Vyyomithram scheme provides services to old age people like mobile clinic service, positive care service, help desk services etc. Providing free health care to the elderly is the main purpose of the schemes.

Mobile Clinic Service: On the basis of the age-based ward, provides medicines for free in the area with the help of mobile clinics. There are no financial norms for availing the service. Each mobile unit includes medical officers, staff nurse and junior public health nurse (JPAN).

Palliative care service: This service intends to provide palliative care to the patients lying on the bed in the project area. Specially trained nurse and JPAN are available for service.

Help Desk: Vayomithram Coordin provides support desk services for the needy elderly in the area. In old age, people can benefit from the help of the Vyomithram offices in Kerala.

Special entertainment programs like Salsam, Snehyathara were mainly organized for the destitute people in the elderly house.

NGOs, programs were sponsored by sponsoring the help of institutions in the field.

Counseling service provided by the Vayomithram Coordinate with the help of doctors reference from the mobile clinic

Active participation of Vayomithram for the rehabilitation of social issues related to people in this area in old age.

Eligibility for the Vayomithram Yojana

The applicant should be a resident of the state of Kerala.

Senior citizens above 65 years of age are eligible to get free services under the age limit scheme.
