Sheetal | SarkariNiti V. Narayanasamy is the Chief Minister of South Indian Union Territory of Puducherry. He belongs to Indian National Congress. He served as the CM of Puducherry on 6 June 2016. He was appointed by the President of India and sworn in by the Lieutenant by the Governor of Puducherry. He was born on 30 May 1947 in Puducherry. His nickname is Nari which means Fox in Tamil Naidu. He comes from the humble background. His father Shri Velu was a toddy tapper in a small village. His mother name is Smt. Ishwary. He is married to Kalai Devi on 19 June 1977. He has one son and one daughter.
V. Narayanasamy did his schooling from Aryankuppam in 1965. He was graduated from Tagore Arts College in 1969. He completed his Law education from Madras Law College and Masters of Law from Annamalai University in between 1969 and 1973. He is an advocate by Profession.
V. Narayanasamy left his law practice and he jumped into Politics under the guidance of P Shanmugam in 1985. He has a huge number of political rivals inside or outside of his party. He served as a member of parliament representing Puducherry in the Lok Sabha. From 1985 he spent most of his time in Delhi. He played an active role in his state too for having the title of KINGMAKER. He was a member of Lok Sabha from Puducherry constituency and MP of Rajya Sabha from 2009 to 2014. He became a Minister of State of Parliamentary Affairs in the Manmohan Singh Cabinet for his first term. During his second term, he handled the Portfolios Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions and Prime Minister’s Office. He was defeated by the NDA Candidates R Radhakrishnan who was backed by the ruling All India N.R Congress. He was the member of the Congress Working Committee.
He was the General Secretary of All India Congress Committee. He was chosen as a CM in May 2016 over V Vaithilingam who was twice CM of Puducherry.
V. Narayanasamy was participating in Social and Cultural Activities. He was the EX-President of All India Backward Classes Employee Federation. Ex-Cultural Secretary of Cultural Secretary, Constitution Club; Member, India-China Society.
V.Narayansamy favorite sports are playing Volleyball and badminton. He visited France in 1985 as a member of the social and cultural delegation. In 1987 He visited China as a member of the Parliamentary Delegation. In a delegation with the Prime Minister of India, he visited Russia and Mongolia in 1991.
