Siddaramaiah is an Indian Politician and present Chief Minister of Karnataka. He is currently serving as a 22nd Chief Minister of Karnataka. His other name is K.Siddaramaiah. He was born on 12 August 1949. He was born in a small village Siddaramanahundi in Mysore. He belongs to a poor family. He completed his schooling in his hometown. He completed his B.Sc and Law from Mysore University.
Siddaramaiah father’s name is Siddareogowda and his mother’s name is Boramma. He married to Parvati. He has two sons- Rakesh who belongs to film industry and Yathindra who is a Doctor. His son Rakesh died in Belgium due to multiple organ failures in July 2016.
Siddaramaiah started his Political career in 1978. Nanjunda Swamy a lawyer noticed him in a district court as a Law Graduate. He forced and asked him to contest and was elected to the Mysore Taluka. He contested on a Bhartiya Lok Dal ticket from Chamundeshwari Constituency and entered the 7th Karnataka Legislative Assembly in 1983. His victory seems surprising to many but he was elected and enter the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. His Political Carrer rises in 1985 by-poll election when he won from his constituency. In 1992, he was promoted as a General Secretary of Janatha Party. After defeat in 1989 the Assembly Elections he came back stronger and won back in 1994. Then he was declared Minister of Finance in H.D Deve Gowda’s term. He became the minister of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services. He handled Sericulture, Transport and Animal Husbandry in the Ramakrishnan Hegde’s ministry. He joined Indian National Congress in 2005 after his partnership falls out with Deve Gowda’s.
Sonia Gandhi invited Siddaramaiah to joined the political party congress. She noticing his good activities and Siddaramaiah joined the Congress in Banglore in the presence of Sonia Gandhi’s at a public meeting. He was elected from his Varuna Constituency in 2008 State Elections but he defeated. He maintained a good status among the people of Karnataka. The Congress won the 2013 Elections by poll. Many members competed for the CM post in congress party. So Congress conducted an election and he got the support of 80 MLA’s. Then he was announced the CM of Karnataka.
