His full name is Anant Gangaram Geete. He is the son of Sh. Gangaram Sambhaji Geete and Anandi Bai. He is Matriculated from the Mumbai Board from Ratnagiri in Maharashtra. He is married to Smt. Ashwani Geete. He has matriculated from Ratnagiri’s Mumbai Board. Anant Geete was worked as the Agriculturist and Social Worker.
Political career
He joined politics as the Councillor of the Municipal Corporation Mumbai from 1985 to 1992. He became the Chairman of Standing Committee on Municipal Corporation Mumbai from 1990-1992. He elected the 1st term of 11th Lok Sabha from Ratnagiri in 1996. He became the member of Urban and Rural Development from 1996 to 1998. He re-elected the 2nd term of 12th Lok Sabha in 1998. From 1998 to 1999 he became the member of Committee on External Affairs and Ministry of Human Resource Development. In 1999, he has re-elected the 3rd term of 13th Lok Sabha and also became the leader of Shiv Sena Parliamentary party. He became the member of Railway Convention Committee, General Purpose Committee, Business Advisory Committee and also a Chairman of Committee on Urban and Rural Development from 1999 to 2000. He selected as the member of Committee on Estimates from 1999 to 2001. He became the member of Consultative Committee on Ministry of Civil Aviation from 2000 to 2002. He appointed Union Minister of State, Ministry of Finance, Banking and Expenditure from July 2020 to August 2002. He became the Union Cabinet Minister of Power from August 2002 to May 2004. In 2004 He was re-elected to the 4th term of 14th Lok Sabha and became the Member of Committee on Chemicals and Fertilizers, Petitions and General Purpose Committee. From August 2007 onwards he became the Chairman of Committee on Chemicals and Fertilizers. He was re-elected to the 5th term of 15th Lok Sabha in 2009 and became the leader of Shiv Sena Parliamentary Party. On 23 Sept. 2009, he was appointed as the Member of Committee on Food, Consumer Affairs, Public Distribution, Business Advisory Committee and also became the chairman of Committee on Petitions.
Anant Geete was re-elected to the 6th term of 16th Lok Sabha and appointed as the Union Cabinet Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Sector Enterprises on 28 May 2014. He was appointed as the leader of Shiv Sena Party in 2018. He was also the member of the Konkan Railway Users Consultative Committee.

As of 2014, he belongs to the Raigad Lok Sabha constituency created in 2008 which is the 48 Lok Sabha (lower house of Indian parliament) constituencies of Maharashtra state in western India.
