In a big morale booster, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh Government on Monday announced Rs 10,000 reward for every girl in the state who passed class 10th. The announced was made by Uttar Pradesh’s deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma. The announcement was made on the day Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath turned 45.

While the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) results have been declared, Uttar Pradesh Board results for High School are yet to be announced. The pass percentage in 10th class results was recorded at 90.95, a 5.7% drop when compared to 96.21 in 2016.

This year, the Central Board of Secondary Education conducted the class 10th exams from March 9 to April 10. There was a slight delay in conducting the exam due to state assembly elections in Punjab, Manipur, Goa, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. The delay in conducting the exam subsequently delayed the date when the final announcement was made – they have an academic schedule to adhere to and this delay may impact it in a dreadful manner.
