Details of Railways ID Card is issued to a Disabled Person- The railways divided the disabled person who cannot travel without any protector into different categories. The categories are orthopedically handicapped, Mentally retarded person, completely blind persons, deaf and dumb person. Instant of these categories the railways provide some concession to the person with the definite ailments. The ailments such as cancer, heart, TB, hemophilia patient, and anemia patients. Procedure for getting the RAILWAY ID CARD to Disabled person – To apply for the Railway ID Card the applicant has to visit the D.R.M [Divisional Railways Manager] office. You have to carry the original documents with you with self-attested photocopies. The appropriate documents are- Concession certificate or UDID card, Photo ID, Address proof, Date of birth proof, 2 color passport sized photograph. These documents are verified by the commercial inspector. The inspector verified the hospital, doctor, and Address proof or details mentioned in the form. Once the verification process is finished you received a call from the D.R.M office. They confirmed the date and time for collecting the RAILWAY ID CARD. The Railway ID card issued with a unique 11 digit identification number. The applicant you this ID card for further undertaking with railways. After the issuance, this ID card will expire after 5 years. If the ID card lost you have to file an F.I.R. You have to follow the same process and also attached the copy of F.I.R.

The RAILWAY BOARD issued a letter for FICs- Family Identity Cards to retired/retiring railway employees. This FIC issued in the form of the booklet. About this FIC, it is already specified in the pass rules that the railway’s administration should issue FIC free of cost for the first time. In the case of lost of FIC, the duplicate FIC is issued on written request with the FIR copy. You have to pay Rs. 25 for per card.

During travel, this FIC should be used by the spouse/children of the employee. On demand of ticket checker, you have to show this ID card to him. This FICs issued from the office where the employee gets retired. On the basis of the old card, the process of a new card will be done and issued to the applicant. This process can be done from the office where the old FICs issued. The renewing authority has no power to carry any addition in FIC. Aadhaar number is also included in FICs format. Instead of 7 years of validity, This FICs card valid for lifetime.
