The CM of Maharashtra has approved the Pension Scheme for Journalists of the State. The scheme is set to be launched soon by the state government of Maharashtra. The government of Maharashtra has taken the initiative for the benefit of the journalists of the state.

The government is to launch a pension scheme for journalists before the monsoon session of the state legislature. He said that several states, including smaller ones like Goa, Jharkhand, and Arunachal Pradesh are giving pension to journalists.

A corpus funds to make the scheme successful in the scheme will soon be allocated by the government, which will be used to pay monthly pension to the journalists.

After announcing a grant of INR.10 lakhs to the Amravati Union of Working Journalists (AWJ), the CM also assured the Journalists to help them in the matter of housing.
