Nitish Kumar is an Indian Politicians who have been a Chief Minister of Bihar since 2017. He was Born on 1 March 1951 in Hakikatpur, PO – Bakhtiarpur District Patna Bihar. His nickname is Munna. He belongs to the Kurmi family. His Father name is Kabiraj Ram Lakhan Singh and his Mothers name in Parmeshwari Devi. His Father was a freedom fighter.
Nitish completed his Electrical Engineering in 1971 from Bihar College of Engineering. He went to join the Bihar Electricity Board. But he wants to join a Politics. He was passionate about Politics. So he moved into Politics.
Nitish Kumar got married on 22 Feb 1973 to Manju Kumari Sinha who was a teacher. He has a son named Nishant Kumar who is also an Engineer. He lost his wife in 2007 at the age of 53. Nitish Kumar belongs to a socialist class of Politicians. He also Participated in Jaiprakash Narayan Movement between 1974 and 1977.
Nitish Kumar served as a Chief Minister of Bihar from 2005 to 2014 and from 2015 to 2017. He also served as a minister in the Union Government of India. Nitish Kumar is a 24th Chief Minister of Bihar who joined the office on 24 November 2015. He belongs to the Janta Dal United and is the leader of the party. He resigned on 17 May 2014 from owning responsibility for his party’s poor performance in 2014 general elections. He won the State Elections in November 2015. Nitish Kumar was elected as a National President of his party on 10 April 2016. He resigned again on 26 July 2017 as a Chief Minister of Bihar. He joined NDA coalition and secured a majority in the assembly taking a Chief Ministership once again in the very next year.
