Mazi Kanya Bhagyashree Scheme – 2018
In the Place of SUKANYA SCHEME 2015, Maharashtra government launched Mazi Kanya Bhagyashree Scheme 2018 for improvement of girl child ratio in the state. This scheme provides the facilities for the benefits of the girls. This Scheme will be launched on INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY.
The main aim of the scheme is to improve the child ratio, female foeticide, prevent sex determination and female education. Under the Sukanya Scheme, the benefits are only for the girls who belong to BPL[Below Poverty Line] families. In the New Mazi Kanya Bhagyashree Scheme, the families who earned Rs. 7.5 lakh per year also take the benefits of this scheme. If the parents are going to plan the family planning operation after the birth of first girl child in the family the amount of Rs. 50,000 will be deposited in the bank by the govt. under the new provision. And the birth of second girl child the amount of Rs. 25,000 will be deposited in the bank account in the name of both children.
The girl child is able to withdraw the interest money two times when she is at the age of 6 years and 12 years. When the girl child becomes young at the age of 18 years is able to withdrawal total money with interest for her studies. This Scheme becomes invalid in the case of the birth of third child. This BHAGYASHREE scheme is only for the birth of two female children.
In Maharashtra, below the age of six years, the child sex ratio is 894 girls per 1000 boys. To control the girl child ratio in Maharashtra is the Motto of the Mazi Kanya Bhagyashree Scheme. The state government allotted Rs. 200 crore for this scheme for providing the money to the girls who become the part of this scheme.
