The growing importance and need for food in India and with the suicide of farmers taking place throughout the country the government of India is making a massive change in the way agriculture is done throughout the nation.
The government is looking forward to benefiting the farmers who are working very hard and are unable to pay back loans taken from banks. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Ministry of Agriculture India have come together to launch a Tractor Subsidy for farmers under which the farmers would be given a mechanization component of the Macro-Management Scheme of agriculture and there is a provision of the subsidy for promoting agricultural mechanization.
Details on the scheme
The government will provide 25% subsidy for the tractors that are cost limited to INR.30,000/- with 35 PTO HP, the ministry of agriculture has approved a list of tractor models of up to 35 HP under the scheme. The scheme is available to all farmers irrespective of the categories they belong to. The Subsidy scheme is a component of the Macro-Management Scheme, formulated in 2000-2001, by bringing together 27 centrally sponsored schemes relating to cooperatives, crop production programs, watershed development programs, horticulture, fertilizer, mechanization, and seeds.
