Sheetal | SarkariNiti Devendra Fadnavis is an Indian Politician. He belongs to Bhartiya Janta Party. His other name is Devendra Gangadhar Fadnavis. He is currently Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He took the oath of office on 31st October 2014 at Wankhede Stadium in Maharashtra. He became one of the youngest CM of the State. He was only 44 when he held the post.
Fadnavis was born on July 22, 1970, to Shri Gangadhar Fadnavis and Smt Sarita Fadnavis. He was born to Bhramin Family in Nagpur Maharashtra. His father has been a Politician associated with Janta Party and His mother is a former director of Vidarbh Housing Credit Society. He got married Amruta Ranade a trained classical singer and Branch Manager of Axis Bank in 2006. He has one daughter Divija Fadnavis.
Fadnavis did his schooling from Saraswati Vidyalaya Shankar Nagar Chowk in his home state Nagpur. He joined Dharampeth Junior College in 1986-87. He completed his Law Degree from Law College Nagpur. He holds a Post Graduate degree in business Management and a diploma in Method and Techniques of Project Management from D.S.E Berlin. He begins his political career through RSS. He was just 21 years old when he was made the Municipal Corporation of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. He was the youngest Corporator ever. He is an active member of [ABVP] during his college days. He joined the Maharashtra Unit of BJP as a Ward President. At the young age of 22, he became the BJP’s corporator in the Nagpur Civic Body. He was also the person to be re-elected and serve as the first Mayor in Council of the State of Maharashtra. He contested his first Assembly Elections in 1999 and won. He represents the Nagpur South West Constituency in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He is the 18th Chief Minister of the state of Maharashtra. He is the second Brahmin CM of the second most popular state of India.
Fadnavis has some important position held as a President BJP’s State unit Maharashtra 2013, GENERAL SECRETARY 2010 BJP’s Maharashtra, National Vice President Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha 2001, State Vice President Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha 1994, Nagpur City President Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha 1992, Office Bearer Nagpur West BJP 1990, Ward President BJYM 1989, Mayor of Nagpur. He has served as a member of several committees such as Public Undertaking Committee, Rules Committee, Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran Standing Committee on Urban Development as well as Housing Joint Select Committee on Reserve Funds.
Fadnavis has successfully launched the Right to Service Act to ensure the efficient delivery of Public Services among other initiatives that are aimed at ensuring good govt. in the state. Over 2 crore people have benefitted within just a few months of the launch.
Fadnavis won awards by Commonwealth Parliamentarian Association for the BEST PARLIAMENTARIAN for the year 2002-2003. Rajyogi Neta award by PRUNAVAD PARIVAR Nasik, Best Parliamentarian Award in the memory of Late Pramodji Mahajan by MUKUTCHAND Pune.
In controversies, his photo with Pune based baba Bodke made round on social media in October 2016. The baba has several cases out of which four are related to murders. Some days later the CM office clarified that Mrs. Hawre who had come to invite CM and brought Baba with her and that Fadnavis did not know the Criminal.
