Launched by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr. Devendra Fadnavis, it is said that the government is going to start a new scheme and has announced the implementation of the scheme for students under the Deen Dayal Upadhay Swayam Yojana to provide hostel and food facilities to the tribal and poor students of the state of Maharashtra.

Objective of the scheme

The main aim of the Deen Dayal Upadhay Swayam scheme is to financially help the tribal students in their studies and to develop the rate of literacy in Maharashtra and also pay tribute to Deen Dayal himself.

Advantages of the DDUSY

  • Under the scheme, Maharashtra state government would provide financial assistance as follows
  • Tier 1 Cities: INR. 6000 every month
  • Tier 2 Cities: INR. 5000 every month
  • Tier 3 Cities: INR. 4000 every month
  • The medicinal students whose family salary is between 2.5 to 6 lakh for each annum and have taken training advance, the legislature will pay enthusiasm of the credit taken by them. The scheme is expected to benefit about 35,000 students in government and 3 lakhs in private colleges

Required eligibility and conditions for applying

  • Competitor must be an inhabitant of the State of Maharashtra, have a place with any tribe Community
  • Hopeful must secure no less than 60 percent stamps in total in the previous examination directed by the Board/University
