Caste Certificate certifies the caste of the person. It is a proof of belonging to the particular caste. Due to urbanization and stating agreement or asset programmes, the caste system in India has been declined. In India, the societies are divided into rigid social groups. The compulsory documents required for the Caste Certificate are- Identity Proof [Aadhaar card, passport, Voter ID, Driving License, PAN Card, MNREGA Card], Address Proof [ration card, electricity Bill, Aadhaar card, water bill, voter ID], and affidavit for caste certificate.
The important information required by the Department such as the name of the applicant, Sex M/F, Father’s/Husband’s Name, residential address, ration card number, details of community certificate of parents, and date of the application.
Caste Certificate is needed if you belong to the SC/ST caste and want to take the benefits of reservation in the case of admission to school/college, scholarships, housing and self-employment schemes, allotment or assignment of land, a candidate in the election.
A caste certificate is issued by the authorized authority of state government. There is some prescribed authority who are able to issue the caste certificate. These authorities are-The District Magistrate/The Additional District Magistrate, Collector/Deputy Collector, Deputy Commissioner/Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Extra Assistant Magistrate, Executive Magistrate, and Taluka Magistrate. The Revenue-officer and the sub-divisional officer of the area also issued the Caste Certificate. The certificate issued by these authorities are accepted by the State Government.
For caste certificate, you can apply online by this process-visit the web portal BACKWARD CLASS WELFARE PORTAL of our state. Then click on APPLY FOR CASTE CERTIFICATE ONLINE. There is an option for a new account or directly fill the form. You have to LOG INTO your account. Then fill the details in online form like Personal details, Address details, Contact details, details of local reference and father’s or any blood relative caste certificate details. Verified your details and click on the SUBMIT button. For uploading choose the type document. Click on the SUBMIT button after uploading of the scanned copy. then you get application number on acknowledgment slip after application loaded successfully. You get MSG or MAIL after one the process is done. You can download your certificate from your account after the successful verification online.
To apply offline visit Tehsil Office, Revenue Office, or SDM office. Get an application form the office and fill all the details in the form. You have to fill Personel, Address, or contacts details in the form. In the form, you have to fill the details of caste certificate of your father or any blood relative. Then tick the option of Caste. Fill and sign the form. You may ask for the 2 passports sized photograph. This process can take approximately one month. You get your certificate from the office.
The Indian Government fixed a percentage in the fields of education, jobs, or in an election for the peoples belongs to SC/ST groups. The Permitted list under the Article 341 or 342 for SC/ST first noticed in 1950 under the constitution order for SC/ST. Every state and UT have a different fee charge for the Certificate.
