He was the founder of SHIV SENA the leading political party in Maharashtra. In 2012, he has lost his life. The Maharashtra Government has launched the Insurance Scheme for the Accidental Victims. The government gave the name to this scheme and call as the Late Balasaheb Thackeray Insurance Scheme.
Under the state government of Maharashtra, this scheme provides the insurance facilities to the accidental victims. The victims get the medical assistance of Rs. 30,000 under the medical center of TRAUMA CARE. While driving or walking if the victim gets injured in an accident they can get the medical cure under this scheme. This scheme launched for the persons who are under stress or mentally disturbed after the accident.
Basically, this scheme is launched for the victims who take a long time to get back from the mental stress. This scheme helps financially to those victims who suffer from the accident badly. This Scheme provides proper medical care so that the victim can recover from the mental trauma. This treatment will be at least for three days longer to get the victim stable. The Maharashtra Govt. paid Rs. 30,000 for each patient. Due to the accident, the patient is under the mental stress has to take proper medical facilities provided by the scheme. The mental trauma treatment will be provided in any TRAUMA CARE CENTER in Maharashtra. According to the Scheme, the patient must be resident of Maharashtra.
The State Health Minister Dr. Deepak Sawant discuss this new scheme at Grand Hyatt in Mumbai. Dr.Deepak Sawant informed that this scheme will be introduced for the accident victims who travel in Maharashtra. It is not important that he originally belongs from which state. The people get injured in road accident in Maharashtra from all over India will take benefits of this insurance scheme. As per data of National Crime Record Bureau[NCRB] After Tamilnadu, Maharashtra Is on the second rank for road accidents or mishaps.
The proper medical guidelines will provide to the victims so they can recover from mental illness as soon as possible. If the victim once registers in the hospital the assurance of treatment of three days will be given by TRAUMA HOSPITAL.
