The Adarsh Nivasi Shalas launched by the Tribal Development Department, Government of Gujarat. Students studying in standard 9 to 12 and belong to Scheduled Tribe, a Permanent residence of Gujarat state are eligible under this scheme. 44 Adarsh Nivasi Shalas/Residential schools have been established and 5,664 students are enrolled in the schemes and getting a free education along with several facilities. All students belong to Scheduled Tribe and permanent residence of Gujarat state are eligible under this scheme, those who wish to get benefits can apply at Nearest Adarsh Nivasi Shalas or Nearest Tribal Development Office.

Objective of the scheme

The aim of this scheme is to facilitate Scheduled Tribe students and encourage them in pursuing education after primary level and increase literacy ratio among them. Under this scheme students are get benefited with Lodging, Boarding, Education, 4 pairs of clothes, utilities for daily use is provided “Free of Cost“.

Required eligibility and conditions applying for Adarsh Nivasi Shalas

  1. All students belong to Scheduled Tribe and permanent residence of Gujarat state are eligible under this scheme
  2. To get admission in 9th standard or S.S.C student must have secured 50% or above in primary level examination
  3. To get admission in 11th standard student shall get admission on basis of merit

Document required applying for Adarsh Nivasi Shalas

  1. Residence proof: Domicile certificate, Electricity bill
  2. Identity proof: Aadhar card
  3. BPL ration card (if available)
  4. Caste certificate
  5. Birth certificate
  6. Tribal certificate
  7. Income certificate
  8. Schooling certificates: SSC mark sheet, 4th standard mark sheet etc.

Application procedure

  1. This scheme is implemented by Tribal Development Department. The students who desire to gain all the benefits of the scheme can apply at any of the Nearest Tribal Development Office or the Adarsh Nivasi Shalas
